The episode begins with the Pandit arriving at the Saxena house. Kusum welcomes him and says she has arranged a Shanti Pooja for her grandson’s birthday. Meanwhile, Ishana happily watches Mangal preparing a gift. Mangal wishes her warmly, blessing her to become a successful dancer, and Akshat also wishes her. Mangal then asks Ishana to invite all her friends for the birthday celebration that evening. Ishana agrees with a smile.
Later, when Mangal and Ishana enter the hall, Kusum calls them and says that she has arranged the hawan especially for Neel. Ishana is taken aback. Neel taunts her, saying the hawan is for him because he is the real family member. Mangal notices Ishana’s pain but remains calm. Neel takes his place for the rituals. Kusum applies tika and gives him a gold chain that once belonged to Adit. Neel happily accepts it.
Mangal Lakshmi: Mangal Tries to Balance Love Between Ishana and Neel
As Ishana turns away, holding back tears, Mangal gently stops her and says she too has a gift for her. Ishana opens it to find the bracelet she once admired. She says it must be expensive, but Mangal replies that she bought it because Ishana loved it. Ishana thanks her, and Adit is pleased. When the Pandit says he will begin, Kusum tells him everyone is present—however, Mangal interrupts and says that since it is the birthday of two children, both should sit for the hawan. She makes Ishana sit beside Neel. Kusum pulls Mangal aside in anger. Sowmya comments that Kusum didn’t appreciate Mangal’s decision, and Ishana overhears this. Kusum tells Mangal that the hawan was meant to make Neel feel special, and involving Ishana was wrong. Mangal explains she only wanted to make Ishana feel included, but Kusum refuses to understand.
Later, Mangal prepares two cakes. Akshat asks why. Mangal explains that Ishana is allergic to maida, so she is making a separate cake for her. Sowmya hands Ishana a gift and casually mentions the two cakes, making Ishana uncomfortable. After Mangal and Akshat leave the kitchen, someone secretly changes the oven settings, causing Ishana’s cake to burn.
When Mangal returns and takes the cake out, it is ruined. Ishana immediately feels hurt and accuses Mangal of doing it on purpose, saying that because she is not Mangal’s real daughter, her cake was ruined while Neel’s is perfect. Neel adds that he is the real son of the house. Ishana runs away in tears.
Mangal reprimands Neel for hurting Ishana. Neel angrily says he doesn’t want his cake either and ruins it. Mangal tells him that wasting food is wrong, but Neel refuses to listen and leaves.
Mangal stands there, overwhelmed, struggling to protect both Ishana’s feelings and Neel’s ego, unsure how to bring balance between them.
